Discovery 08 Gala Dinner
The finale to a three day annual conference organised by VisitBritain as a UK Showcase for Overseas Buyers of Meeting and Incentives, the Gala Dinner for Discovery 2008 was held at Gorton Monastery. A banquet for over two hundred quests the event was of an international appeal and caliber and recognizing the importance of each element to overall impact of the event and the experience of the guests, surprise factors were layered during the evening so that guests were entertained from the moment of collection until they returned to their hotel.
The theme of Alice in Wonderland was reflected throughout the event, from the creation of the menu to the design of the floral and table dressing, and a full finale programme was created making full use of the dramatic space using music, street theatre performers, light and aerial shows.
Nine Lives Productions planned and coordinated all aspects of the event from ground transport to the dressing and decoration of the venue, table settings, seating plans, design of the menu and entertainment. The event was awarded at the MIMIA Awards in 2009.
